Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Lehrt, a tutoring productivity platform for independent tutors. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service govern your use of Lehrt (the service), operated by Felix Schmidt. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact: lehrt.app@gmail.com.

2. Beta status

Lehrt is currently in a testing phase. The service is provided as is, features may change without notice, and downtime, bugs, or data loss may occur. You should not rely on the service for mission-critical work during this period.

3. Operator and legal responsibility

Lehrt is operated by Felix Schmidt, a minor based in Leipzig, Germany. The service is provided under the legal responsibility of his guardian, Ulrike Schmidt, who has consented to the operation of Lehrt and is named as the data controller in the privacy policy. By using Lehrt you acknowledge this arrangement. All operational matters, including support and feedback, are handled by Felix Schmidt at lehrt.app@gmail.com.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use the service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information when signing in via Google.

5. Your content and data

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload, including student information, session notes, and generated materials.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to enter any information about third parties (including students and their guardians) into the service. Where applicable, you are responsible for obtaining consent under the GDPR and for fulfilling your role as data controller. Lehrt acts as a data processor on your behalf. See the privacy policy for details on how data is handled.

6. AI-generated materials

The service uses third-party AI providers to generate worksheets, answer keys, and other materials. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated materials before using them with students. Lehrt makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any generated content.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code.
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the service.
  • Use the service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or harassing.

8. Third-party services

The service integrates with third-party providers including Google (authentication, Calendar) and Anthropic (AI generation). Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Intellectual property

All rights to the service, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, remain with Felix Schmidt. These terms do not grant you any right to use the Lehrt name or logo outside of normal use of the service.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account by contacting lehrt.app@gmail.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided as is and as available without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Felix Schmidt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid to use the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Leipzig, Germany.
